Jira gives us an ability to log time spent on a particular issue directly to it. Thank to this we can fairly accurately see how time is being spent in our organization – thanks to built-in Jira reports or apps that allow enhanced time-based reports.
Not all things are either black or white, and the same story goes for Jira issues. If your only options were to mark the assignment either done or merely not, it wouldn’t speak the whole truth about how a workflow for a task looks like, wouldn’t it?
In the middle of May, SolDevelo went for another business trip, this time to the eastern part of the USA: to Ashburn. This small but beautiful city in the state of Virginia is located near Washington D.C.
Our journey started at the end of the rainy season, which is actually not the best time to visit Kenya, due to the number of mosquitoes transmitting malaria. Before the trip, we had to visit the Tropical Medicine Clinic. After a short conversation with the doctor, we were vaccinated for yellow fever and got a prescription for anti-malaria pills.
As with everything in this prone-to-forgetting universe, some crucial tasks that must be completed before marking a given issue as “done” will be forgotten once in a while. As you probably know, even the most detailed and thought through plan means little if not executed due to the faulty of human memory.
Metrics are essential to keep track of businesses and teams. They are useful tools for planning, adapting, and understanding how our projects are progressing and how well our team is working. Metrics let us know whether we need to make changes or just keep up our good work.
We are happy to announce that SolDevelo has recently become a Standard Consulting Partner in the Amazon Web Services Partner Network! It is a major honour to be recognised by Amazon, a cloud computing giant, for our work and professional skills.
